Hi. I'm Jonathan Holt, a writer, editor and creative generalist with one foot firmly in London and the other tapping around to see what the rest of the world feels like. Including, on occasion, the patch of rural America I grew up on.
I guess you'd say that's what this blog is about. Seeing what's out there.
Need something written or edited?
I'm an experienced copywriter with a journalist's sense and (I hope) a poet's sensibilities.
As an editor and 'ideas person' my specialty is websites, but I've also edited newsletters, corporate magazines, non-profit journals, postcards, PowerPoint presentations and other things with words and pictures on them.
I've worked with The Mind Gym, Yoo, BP, Dow Jones, BT, About.com, Poet in the City and a range of other organisations. What can I do for you?
The writing life
I'm currently in the midst of a creative writing MA at Goldsmiths College, University of London, where I am working on a collection of short stories. The proverbial novel also looms.
My essay about T.S. Eliot, creativity and the City of London appeared in the book Common Ground: Around Britain in 30 Writers (Cyan 2006).
"Jonathan Holt writes convincingly on The Waste Land 'as an indictment of London's dark financial heart.'"
